Coyotes in the SW and SE United States

Coyotes will eat anything they can get – they’re opportunistic feeders. This means they’ll eat anything from deer to fish to plant matter. They will hunt live prey as well as scavenging dead animals. They’ll also dig through people’s trash if they find themselves in a settled area, and will even prey on pets and strays.

Coyote Habitat

Coyotes live just about everywhere in North America, as well as parts of Central America. They usually prefer wide-open fields and prairies, but as human civilization spreads closer and closer to their preferred habitats, they have adapted and may live their entire lives in an urban area. Coyotes may be solitary or move in packs.

Coyote Behaviors, Threats, or Dangers

Since coyotes are increasingly common in urban areas, it’s more and more likely that they will scavenge through people’s properties in search of food. They’re also more likely to encounter outdoor pets; if there are coyotes in your area, make sure to keep your pets, especially cats and small dogs, indoors.

If you’ve noticed a coyote in your area, don’t hesitate to call a professional coyote removal team.
